Lamb Shank at Mad Jack
I ordered and ate this visually attractive dish called lamb shank (at Mad Jack) with mashed potatoes at Mad Jack Cafe, White Sands, Pasir Ris.
The lamb shank at Mad Jack was a visually attractive multi-coloured feast that appeared more good-looking than its taste.
I must admit that the lamb shank with its bone exposed at one end looked absolutely seductive to a carnivore like me. I wanted very much to pick up the lamb shank at Mad Jack with bare fingers and sink my teeth into the meaty flesh.
However, being in a public place with kids in tow, I had to restrain myself. With knife and cutlery ready, I teased apart the lamb shank at Mad Jack and worked it into bite-sized pieces. Then with the lamb shank at Mad Jack placed gingerly between my lips without leaving a stain, I crushed the meat of this lamb shank at Mad Jack dish into loose bits with my molars.
What followed was a firm-to-soft separation into smaller pieces of lamb shank at Mad Jack inside my oral cavity. The distinct taste of lamb was unmistakable, not too overpowering yet inescapable.
If you dislike the taste of lamb, you will not be able to wash it away with any drinks following the complete swallow of a bite-sized portion of lamb shank at Mad Jack.
To rate the taste of lamb shank at Mad Jack, I would give it a safe passing mark. But somehow it lacked that extra oomph for me to give it a distinction.
The rest of the lamb shank at Mad Jack companions on my dish (i.e. the corn, carrots, etc) were undercooked just a trifle too firm to my liking.
