Easy Way: Embed Google Map in Blogger

Just found out an easy way to embed Google Map in my Blogger weblog today. The above map of Pasir Ris Singapore is taken from Google Map after I searched for an easy way to embed it into Blogger.

These are the basic steps to embed Google Map in Blogger:

1. Go to Maps (dot) google (dot) com like this http://maps.google.com/

2. Type in the address on the Google search bar of the place you wish to look at on the map.

3. Click on the "Link" at the top right corner of the Google Maps.

4. Copy and paste the data (iframe width=".....") into your Blogger post.

That's all on how to embed Google Map into Blogger!

This is the easy way on how to embed Google Map into your Blogger posts. You should be able to manipulate the map like zoom in and zoom out or change the area you wish to look at on the google map.

How to break sweat when it's so easy. I should have learned about this way much earlier. Feels cool right? This easy way (and cool way) is kind of fun too. I think I may try to embed more Google Maps into my blogger posts.

Enjoy yourself while you learn how to embed Google Map into Blogger the easy way.

d24 Durian Mooncake: Goodwood Park Hotel

d24 Durian Mooncake: Goodwood Park Hotel

These d24 durian flavoured mooncake from Goodwood Park Hotel were purchased and sampled today by me. d24 durian by themselves are really soft, tasty and aromatic fruits. Snow skin type of mooncake are also my favourite. Put d24 durian into snow skin mooncake like the way Goodwood Park Hotel does, combines the best of two worlds that I simply cannot resist.

The durian of the d24 label inside snow skin mooncake are eaten chilled. The instructions on the box label informs that their durian mooncake have to be kept in the freezer for storage. The durian mooncake also has to be consumed within three days.

At $48 before gst for a box of four durian mooncakes, the durian mooncake from Goodwood Park Hotel is not cheap. However, the culinary pleasure of eating delicious durian mooncake during the coming mid autumn festival period is infinitely worth more than the money spent.

Looking forward to more mooncakes, especially with durian fillings over the next fortnight.

Godzilla Pau: Dinosaur Dumpling

Godzilla Pau (Pow): Dinosaur Dumpling

This is an amazing dumpling, just like a dinosaur that this pau is named after: Godzilla Pau (Pow).

The Godzilla Pau (or Pow) is a meat and egg steamed dumpling fit for a dinosaur. Each handcrafted Godzilla Pau (or Pow) is a delicious edible work of art meant for eaters with dinosaur appetites. The Godzilla Pau dumpling contains dinosaur proportions of pork, egg and other ingredients that is more than enough for two persons looking for tea and a stall with the Godzilla (of the dinosaur from Japan fame) name.

Each Godzilla pau (or pow) dumpling is about triple the size of a standard sized meat dumpling. The Godzilla pau pork meat is soft, much softer than other dumplings I’ve tried. Once you bite into it, the pork oozes a sweet liquid with a tinge of salt and other secret sauces.

This Godzilla Pau (or Pow) is not the only dumpling made by this stall. Other dumplings albeit of non-dinosaur proportions are also worth a try. Perhaps I might describe them in detail later.

For now, the Godzilla Pau (or Pow) is my dinosaur dumpling of the month. My assessment: 9 out of 10. If the skinof the pau were more evenly distributed, this Godzilla pau would have achieved a perfect ten.

I bought the Godzilla Pau (Pow) from an air-conditioned stall at Elias Mall Neighbourhood Centre in Pasir Ris Drive 3. For map and route to Godzilla pau stall, check the road directory.

Book BBQ Pit Singapore

Book BBQ Pit In Singapore

When I first moved in to Pasir Ris estate (Singapore), I thought the barbecue (bbq) pits along Pasir Ris Park Beach are free to use. Little did I know that each one of the bbq pit belongs to the National Parks Board (Nparks) and that I needed to book a bbq pit AND pay for the use of the bbq pit after I book it in Singapore.

Fortunately, I got to know how to book a BBQ pit in Singapore and managed to book a bbq pit recently.

Basically, to book a bbq pit you can do it online via the Nparks Internet BBQ Booking Site (shown in Book BBQ Pit link below). Go to their Singapore site to choose your bbq pit to book. After you have booked your bbq pit, you must go down to any AXS station in Singapore to pay up and collect a receipt as proof that you did book a bbq pit (in case park rangers check on you to see if you readly did book a bbq pit).

Once you book a bbq pit, you can use the bbq pit from 12noon to 8am the next day. After confirmation, the bbq pit number selected cannot be changed, nor can you get a refund for the bbq pit you booked.

The price to book a bbq pit in Pasir Ris Park is $20 per bbq pit. Book your bbq pit early for popular periods like weekends and school holidays. The choice of bbq pit is also important. Make sure the bbq pit is with easy reach so your friends and family can find the bbq pit without getting lost.

Go book your bbq pit and enjoy your bbq!

Explorer Kid Club, Indoor Playground at Downtown East

Explorer Kid Club, Indoor Playground at Downtown East

I walked past the indoor playground of Explorer kid club at Downtown East. Looks like a big children's playground that is located indoors. It occupies 8,200 square foot of retail space at E!Hub in Downtown East, Pasir Ris.

The Explorer Kid Club with its large indoor playground inside e!Hub of Downtown East entertains kids with fun and games. It is designed to stimulate children's imagination and push them to learn.

The indoor playground consists of 20 fun play elements. Besides the indoor playground things, the Explorer Kids club also has a lighted ball pool, a multimedia platform, internet kiosks. A cool hangout for kids, parents and teachers.

Location and map at E!hub @ Downtown East, Level 3
1 Pasir Ris Close, Singapore 519599

Operating hours:
Monday to Friday: 12 pm – 10 pm
Saturday, Sunday, Public Holidays and School Holidays: 10 am – 10 pm

Admission fees apply.

With strong air-con, this place is a very cold indoor playground at Downtown East. The other thing that is holding me back from using it is the fear of getting hand foot and mouth disease. I guess if sick kids are screened and barred from this place, I might bring my children to visit their indoor playground.

Gelare Ice Cream

Sampled this ice-cream from Gelare, located in the basement of Far East Shopping Centre. Visited the ice cream parlour with family while waiting to fetch child from school.

Eight lovely scoops of ice-cream with pieces of Oreo biscuits greeted us on the table. The four flavours of ice cream chosen were chocolate, coffee, strawberry and vanilla.

I liked these scoops of ice cream as the milky taste so commonly found in other brands of ice cream was absent. Originated from Italian and American roots, these ice creams tasted better than the average run-of-the-mill types. The smooth texture with just the right amount of sweetness whetted my appetite for more. But the scoops of ice cream was smaller than what I have been used to eating at one sitting.

The chocolate had a mild bitter but sweet tange to it which I lloved very much. The coffee flavoured ice-cream would have raised my temperature more if the caffeine kick had been stronger. Nevertheless I would grade this Gelare ice cream 7.5 out of a possible 10 score.

Price: S$24.80 for 8 ice cream scoops
